Pretty good summary of the main points of the CFI-A practical test.   A glaring problem is the discussion of endorsements.   John would probably have busted on his discussion of endorsements because he didn't exhibit any specific knowledge of endorsements at all, which was probably OK back when this video was made, but is definitely not OK today.  There was no mention of TSA requirements nor any mention of ICARA, nether of which existed way back when this video was made but are big deals now.  Likewise, the FOI oral here was far less detailed than what one is likely to encounter these days. The flying segments were fine, those haven't changed much over the years.

I've gone through my commercial with King Schools and it was pretty good.  I wasn't sure what to expect with just the check ride prep video (I have already taken my writtens and ground school).  I suppose this video is good to ease your mind on the check ride.  Of course, we all hear the nightmares about how tough these rides are, the FAA, so you really don't know until you get there.  It was a good way of seeing how it might go, but I have a problem with this video being 22 years old.  The info probably hasn't changed much, but since we are changing from the PTS to the ACS for Private Pilot, etc., I think as a CFI candidate, it is important to understand and discuss that as part of the program.  I know it takes time to update this stuff, but $139 later I am watching a video that is 22 years old.  But hey, you still get WINGS Credit, am I right!?!

A great Flight Instructor is always learning! With a CFI-A oral and checkride approaching, the wing-warping mystery of the unknown has been finally solved.
