I took an in-person instrument ground school about nine years ago, and I have to say that I have learned more from the King instrument ground school that I did in the in-person one.  Some of the segments are a little out dated, but the information throughout the course is very valuable and still practicable for today instrument flying.  I highly recommend it.

I tried a number of online ground schools but none them actually covered all the materials needed to answer all the published test questions, I would have been better off falling asleep while reading the PHAK cover to cover.  I still didn't quite feel up to taking the knowledge test and decided to give King Schools testp prep course a try.  I cannot understate how much more complete the king schools videos were compared to everything else out there.  Boosted by the confidence I got from the King videos I took the exam the day after complete the last lesson and got 100% of the question on my exam correct!

Excellent use of video to demonstrate the landings

I first tried to study for the remote pilot exam on my own, using the free materials provided by the FAA.  I was quickly overwhelmed by the volume of new material that I had to learn and by not understanding some of the terminology.  The King School on-line course broke things down into bite-size chunks for me, explained things in a way that I could understand, and helped me to focus on what was most important to learn.  The practice questions available from the King School were invaluable in helping me to be able to pass the test with flying colors on my first try.  I spent about 1-2 hours per day on the King School course  for 8-9 days before taking the exam.
